Aircraft carriers are absolutely important for sea control but at the same time they cannot exercise sea denial very effectively and for that India needs to invest a lot in submarines. They have have bay of Bengal, Arabian sea and The Indian ocean giving them more access to sea than China. So India needs a better navy than them or at least comparable to them.
